FAQs
How do I purchase vouchers for my organisation?
The ICE voucher ordering system is the simplest and quickest available.
You can register on line here and purchase vouchers immediately using a credit card.
Alternatively you can pay by cheque, BACS transfer or Direct Debit by following the simple instructions on the registration page.
There is also an order form that you can download here and send in to us.
What is the minimum and maximum purchase?
Vouchers are available in multiples of 5, which is the minimum ordering quantity, and there is no maximum purchase
How quickly will I receive my vouchers?
Your vouchers will be issued electronically as soon as we have received your cleared payment, so they could be with you within minutes if you are ordering by credit card.
Which opticians will accept my voucher?
ICE vouchers gives you access to a unique network of over 2,000 optical practices, comprising independent opticians, small groups, and large high street chains.
Affiliated opticians can be found on the website here, but if your favourite optician is not listed, do not worry, you simply need to ask them to register in a simple process that takes only a few minutes.
How many vouchers are needed for the eye examination and glasses, if required for VDU use?
The ICE voucher offers incredible simplicity, with just a single voucher needed for both the eye examination and spectacles, when required for VDU use.
This saves everyone time and money, as only one visit to the optician is required, and bureaucratic administration is kept to a minimum.
Is there any benefit for me if I am not entitled to vouchers for VDU?
Yes, ICE vouchers include a unique offer for all spectacle wearers, whether or not they are entitled to glasses solely for VDU use. You are entitled to a £15 discount on any purchase of complete frames and lenses costing £125 or more in the practice that you are using your voucher.
Is the ICE voucher an environmentally friendly service?
Yes, the ICE voucher is the most environmental voucher process available, with the smallest carbon footprint. Because our vouchers are delivered electronically, and only printed when they are about to be used, we have eliminated the waste associated with delivery, labelling, packaging and disposing of unused vouchers that are associated with the alternatives.
What determines whether I am entitled to an eye examination or glasses under the DSE regulations?
Your employer will assess whether you are entitled to an eye examination, depending on your level of use of VDU or other Display Screen Equipment (DSE). The optometrist will then assess whether corrective equipment is required solely and specifically for DSE use. A summary of the regulations can be found here.
How can my organisation keep track of who has had their eye examination?
You can access a live database through your unique ICE micro-site where the details of how all of the vouchers that you have issued are automatically recorded giving you complete control of all the vital management information.
How does an optician redeem the vouchers that they have received?
All opticians must register online here with their essential details. Once registered, any authorised staff member can log on to register a voucher for re-imbursement.
If you do not have internet access in your practice, please follow the simple instructions on the voucher and send them back to us by post for re-imbursement.
What can I do if my question is not answered on this page?
